Motor Vehicles
All vehicles offered for sale through Aussie Muscle Car Traders are the sole responsibility of the advertiser. It is understood the advertiser is the rightful owner of the vehicle, the vehicle is free of encumbrances, and the vehicle is authentically what it has been represented as by the advertiser. AMCT relies completely on the information supplied by the seller, and takes absolutely no responsibility for the accuracy or veracity of this information, but strongly recommends the intended purchaser perform their own due diligence before finalising the transaction, either personally or through an authorised inspection service. AMCT can recommend an independent reputable service if required.
AMCT thus effectively acts as the seller’s agent. When a purchaser intends to inspect a vehicle listed for sale on the AMCT website, AMCT will issue a tax receipt to the purchaser for the amount of 5.5% of the advertised price, effectively a purchase deposit. Once clear funds are received, the vehicle will be placed under ‘sale pending’ on hold, until the transaction is finalised. The owner will be supplied the contact phone number and/or email address of the purchaser, and instructed to be in contact with the purchaser to arrange an inspection and finalisation of the sale transaction. The purchaser will pay to the seller the balance of the purchase price (total amount advertised Less 5.5% AMCT fee) and finalise the transaction at a time convenient to both parties. The purchaser must perform their own checks in regard to the condition, authenticity and veracity of the vehicle, and be clear that the vehicle is as it is represented in all aspects, before finalising the purchase. The seller will also need to provide a statement of clear title from REVS (Registrar of Encumbered Vehicle Service) at the time of handover.
The purchaser should note that many vehicles listed with AMCT are sold unregistered and may be required to be transported to the purchaser’s premises. AMCT can recommend an independent reputable transport service if required, alternatively purchasers may obtain an unregistered vehicle driving permit and drive the vehicle home themselves.
In the event that the sale does not proceed, the purchaser will notify AMCT, who will issue a full refund of moneys paid, and place the vehicle back on the Cars For Sale page. Note AMCT’s total fee for assisting the seller to find a purchaser for their vehicle is 5.5% of the advertised price, minimum fees apply. No advertising fees are payable. The purchaser pays AMCT nothing.
If the vehicle is sold by the owner independently of AMCT, it is the owner’s requirement to notify AMCT, so the vehicle may be removed from the website. No fee is due to AMCT under this circumstance.
